There is no flicker of any attempt to 'stifle' anything. Obviously the performance was wonderful and people enjoyed it but it is also possible that other thoughts emerged. After all, dance is such a subjective experience. and Indian dance elicits such strong passions in most of us. What is apparent is that we are not able to separate the performance and the person. We attack the individual and her character instead of dissecting her veiwpoint objectively. It is is this personal tone of vehemence that has prompted almost all the media in India to shut down spaces for dance discussion. Too much politics and too much hysteria. Anyway - argue on everyone! snd enjoy!
