I am a big fan of yours Anita, but if I were you, I would refrain from justifying Ramaa's article. As an ardent lover of Bharatanatyam, Ramaa gave me little food for thought. The article was rife with misplaced political critique. More than anything, it was self contradictory. One could even call it a rant, at its best. It is the exact opposite of a well written piece. She makes a point only to later destroy it. Elementary school children know better than to make that mistake! I think the first post makes that point beautifully. I feel bad for the poor dancers. Knowing how well or poorly they performed would be informative to them. One is always excited about new talent. It would be exciting to know who the exciting new brand of dancers are. In my humble opinion, Anita, you are stifling the very discussion you wish to generate.
