Kathakali maestro Padmanabhan Nair's CHOLLIYATTAM in 2 volumes brought out by Kerala Kalamandalam is the Bible for all those who are engaged in the world of classical performing arts. He is the son of the great Kathakali exponent Pattikkamthodi Ravunni Menon.

Kalluvazhi Ittiraricha Menon (1828 1903) introduced the Kalluvazhi style of Kathakali but his chief disciple Pattikkamthodi Ravunni Menon perfected it through the Kerala Kalamandalam and the Kottakkal PSV Natya Sangam and gradually it came to be known as the Pattikkamthodi style.
