Maratha King Serfoji II ushered in modern public
education and from shastric criticism to oriental philology, printed
books – he revolutionized everything. He filled his libraries with star
charts, models and books in various fields to impart education in the
latest developments around the world. He used innovative pedagogy and
methods like dance dramas to teach geography and astronomy to the

There are 33 ragas used in the bargita of Sankaradeva
and Madhabadeva. Although it is not mentioned what talas were used in
bargita, they are presented in different talas according to the
