 You can't just generalize that the all the musicians don't take care about the music and the sound for the show. There are lot of musicians who really perform and gel well with dancers by their creativity and make sure that his/her performance is well appreciated by the audience. Some times the musicians get frustrated about the sound system when some one who doesn't know anything about the Dance, sound or light tries to show his/her creativity, then no one can help in putting the show in a proper way. If the musicians don't get a proper monitor speaker for them to hear their own performance, they become frustrated and looses the drive towards the show. If there is a sound engineer to take care the sound system it is better to give him/her the liberty to do his own job. Don't try to show your knowledge to him. It is a big subject so let me stop with this.
