 I also know of at least one university entirely devoted to fine arts, Kalai Kaviri in Tiruchirapalli, which among other courses offers dance & music Ph.D.'s (and some online courses too!) Many other Indian universities also offer music & dance degrees and have distinguished artistes on their faculty. Information about their courses may be harder to find than for the typical American university, but this doesn't mean that they don't exist.
