With all due respect to Vasanthi Sankaranarayanan, did anyone
feel that this review was a little on the harsh side? I know reviewers
have the freedom to write what they want, but the pen was surely a sharp-pointed
one. Calling a Chennaite veteran theater actor's rendition "pathetic" is
simply crossing the line in my opinion. And I guess VS has her opinion
too... but where is the sense of pragmatic appropriateness on the part
of the reviewer? And where do we draw the line, transforming constructive
criticism (which can be both positive and negative feedback) into destructive
criticism?
