Translated by Kiran Java)  Dancing Krishna | Indian Miniature Artist, Anonymous, 1850 Copyright: Public Domain Look, look O friend, the King of dancers Dances by the banks of the Kalindi river Amidst the cowherd girls with a crown that dangles A sarong with bells tied around his waist And a yellow shawl that sparkles With the rays of his earrings the chariot of the sun entangles 'Tat Thei Ta Ta Thei' the dance phonetics Resound through the universe In a forward and backward gait their feet match the syllables 'Radhe Radhe' chants the flute during the Rasa dance Nandadas sings there At that spot which is close by and within reach! (राग रामकली देखौ देखौरी नागरनट निर्तत कालिंदी तट गोपिन के मध्य राजें मुकुट लटक ॥ काछिनी किंकणी कटि पीतांबर की चटक कुंडल रथकी अटक ॥ १ ॥ तत थेई ताता थेई शब्द सकल घट उरप तिरप गति पगकी पटक ॥ रास में श्रीराधे राधे मुरलीमें एक रट नंददास गावै तहाँ निपट निकट ॥२॥ rāga rāmakalī dekhau dekhaurī nāgaranaṭa nirtata kāliṃdī taṭa gopina ke madhya rājeṃ mukuṭa laṭaka ॥ kāchinī kiṃkaṇī kaṭi pītāṃbara kī caṭaka kuṃḍala rathakī aṭaka ॥ 1 ॥ tata theī tātā theī śabda sakala ghaṭa urapa tirapa gati pagakī paṭaka ॥ rāsa meṃ śrīrādhe rādhe muralīmeṃ eka raṭa naṃdadāsa gāvai tahā~ nipaṭa nikaṭa ॥2॥)  Kiran Java is the author of 'Journey of Kathak' and 'Meeting the Kathak Rishi'.
