it is very true, what you say. i stay in australia. here too, whenever the local associations want some performace from me, they'd clearly say, short and crispy.they dont want something meaningful. they have a classical performance, just becoz the aussies like to watch it and so as a formality. even the kids who learn, are not keen on theory, basics, they just want to jump to items.the other day, when i finally performed a tillana, nobody was watching, felt bad and insulting. all they r interested is in costumes, makeup etc.how do v start a movement.iam sure this is the difficulty faced by more than many.sometimes i fear this art might get extinct/scarce. any ideas from u r side? mail me at mallikajobs@yahoo.com.
