Views on Promoting classical Arts

I write this message after attending one of those Diwali Fests where the Indian diaspora supposedly bring their children to absorb Indian Culture. The program (as most programs usually are) was 3+hours of professional and amateur bollywood dance presentations. The costumes and movements did raise a few eyebrows, but surprisingly not many.Because not many were even really paying attention. I may be wrong but I strongly feel that we need to show much more than just this to our progeny. I would love to hear suggestions on what we should be doing to build an audience base for Classical Arts. What roles individuals,dancers, institutes , NGo's and the Govt/embassy could be playing to bring about some positive changes. Isn't Narthaki.com a good place for us to start a movement?
