Anita Rathnam premieres show on violence of city life

It was about the implicit violence of urban life and was  meant to be a counterpoint, being premiered on Gandhi Jayanthi. And it was about the courage and ambition with which youth of today should face their tomorrows.   

Speaking to KutcheriBuzz Anita Ratnam said the presentation has its origin in 'Vaigarai - A New Dawn' produced for Doordarshan Kendra, Chennai, two years ago.  

"Targeted at the age group of 10-18, 'Suvvadu' highlights the challenges faced by the youth today, their emotional turmoils and their courage to tread their own path", she says and adds, "There is a 'Vamana' in everybody that can take a 'Vishwaroopa'".... 

Anita also says that 'Suvvadu' has been created with a lot of group ideas put together and the impressions that she has gathered from dance workshops she conducted with young urban students, the world over. She adds that she has conceived the production in Tamil, to bring out a regional flavour....... 

The multifaceted Revathy Sankkaran linked the entire presentation with her vivid and lively narration, playing various roles within the show as well...
