Shubanjali
makes a hat-trick at the 6th Annual Dance competitions in NJ, USA
July 14, 2005 Organized by the Hindu Tempe of NJ, competitions were held during the 6th Annual Indian American Festival, in Bridgewater, NJ on the 9th and 10th of July. Shubanjali
School of Performing Arts, a premier dance organization based in NJ, added
another feather to its cap as they bagged the first place awards in the
Junior Classical Dance category and the Senior Folk Category, for the third
consecutive year, and was recognized in the Outstanding Dance School category
as the Runner up, competing with more than 20 leading dance schools in
the tri-state area.
The winners
of Shubanjali are:
Senior Group Folk category – First Place: Sumitra Ramaprasad, Sharbari Bose, Purnema, Minal Patel, Monalisa Dhobley, Ragaranjani Gunnia, Sumana Ramakrishnan, Shobana Raj, Jasmine Gadhavi, Reena Chokshi Outstanding Dance School Category – Runner Up: Sumitra Ramaprasad, Sharbari Bose, Purnema, Minal Patel, Monalisa Dhobley, Ragaranjani Gunnia, Sumana Ramakrishnan, Shobana Raj, Jasmine Gadhavi, Reena Chokshi Shubanjali, founded in 1992 by Bharatanatyam dancer Suba Ramesh Parmar, is a New Jersey based dance organization with exemplary performing and teaching standards. The school has consistently won recognition at premier tri-state events, including First Place at the 2003 Federation of Indian Associations, NY Cultural Show and the 2004 Outstanding Dance School award at the annual Bridgewater Temple competition.
