The trust was founded by Pratap Sinh Serfoji Raje Bhosale, who serves as the Founder Chairman and Managing Trustee.

Among the trustees of the organization is Serfoji Raja T. Bhosale, eldest son of Prince Tulajendra Rajah P. Bhosale, along with other members committed to cultural and heritage preservation. The trust is headquartered at the historic Sadar Mahal Palace Complex, Thanjavur.

According to the registered Trust Deed, the organization aims to preserve and restore heritage monuments, royal structures, and historic sites connected with the Thanjavur Maratha period. The trust also seeks to foster and promote classical Indian performing arts, especially Carnatic music and Bharatanatyam, by organizing music festivals, dance festivals, lecture demonstrations, cultural programs, and educational activities.

The trust further intends to create awareness about the compositions of the Thanjavur Maratha kings and encourage artists and researchers to preserve these rare cultural treasures through performances, publications, workshops, and archival initiatives. Special emphasis will be given to supporting young and emerging artists and promoting artistic excellence through awards and recognitions.

Speaking about the initiative, Founder and Managing Trustee Pratap Sinh Serfoji Raje Bhosale stated that the trust has been established with the vision of protecting the cultural and architectural legacy of Thanjavur for future generations while also creating a vibrant platform for Indian classical arts and education.

The trust has appealed to heritage lovers, philanthropists, art patrons, and the general public to contribute generously towards these noble causes. Donations received will be utilized for heritage conservation projects, cultural activities, artist support programs, educational initiatives, and preservation of rare historical materials.
