Young talents shine at Belgium's Ganesh Festival 2025September 5, 2025 The Belgium Ganesh Festival 2025 held on August 30 and 31, brought together devotion, artistry, and community spirit. A highlight of the event was the performance of Samiksha Ghantasala, 10-year-old granddaughter and disciple of Parvathi Ravi Ghantasala, Bharatanatyam exponent and Managing Trustee of Kala Pradarshini, Chennai. Samiksha impressed audiences with her Bharatanatyam recital, carrying forward a rich artistic lineage. She has previously performed at Nada Niranjanam at Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam and the Ghantasala Centenary Celebration. ![]() Samiksha Ghantasala ![]() Dhiksha Mohankumar Joining her on stage was Dhiksha Mohankumar, 13, also a disciple of Parvathi Ravi Ghantasala. Admired for her expressive maturity and graceful presence, Dhiksha's performance drew appreciation for its depth and precision. Together, the young dancers showcased Kala Pradarshini's tradition of blending heritage with contemporary relevance on an international stage. The festival, organized by the Indian Center for Culture and Creativity (ICCC) under the leadership of Sagar Singamsetty, has become a landmark for Indian culture in Belgium. Alongside the artistic performances, a 25kg laddu auction raised EUR 4,311 for local Belgian charities, reflecting the Indian diaspora's spirit of gratitude and social responsibility. ![]() Parvathi Ravi Ghantasala Reflecting on the occasion, Parvathi Ravi Ghantasala said: "For Samiksha and Dhiksha, Bharatanatyam is not just an art form - it is a living connection to their roots. It is deeply fulfilling to see children carry forward our culture through platforms like the ICCC, which also strengthen cultural bonds beyond borders." Mr. Mohamed Ridouani, Mayor of Leuven emphasized cultural pride and inclusivity, remarking: "Cherish your roots, your culture, the heritage of your family and predecessors. Do not forget where you come from. When cultures and traditions are shared, they remain alive. Leuven will always stand by such initiatives that weave communities together." Mr. V. Narayan, Counselor (PIC) at the Embassy of India, spoke on the global resonance of Lord Ganesh: "Lord Ganesh's influence transcends geographies. The Indian community abroad not only safeguards its heritage but enriches local societies through collaboration, charity, and harmony. Such festivals are living examples of India's soft power in action."
