Fine Arts Society awards women achievers March 17, 2022 The Fine Arts Society, Chembur, 60 year old pioneer institute of Arts and culture had their International Women's Day celebration on 12th March 2022 along with their FAS Stree Ratna Award function in Mumbai. The FAS Stree Ratna Award is an initiative of The Fine Arts Society started in 2014 to recognise women achievers of various fields and to motivate young women to excel in their respective fields. The FAS Stree Ratna awardees for 2022 are veteran Hindustani vocalist, 90 year old Dr. Prabha Atre, Dr N. Rajam, Guru Shanta Dhananjayan, Dr. Mallika Sarabhai, Carnatic vocalist Dr.S.Sowmya, 'Missile Woman' Dr.Tessy Thomas, first test tube baby fame Dr. Kamala Selvaraj, finance expert Ashu Suyash, former MD, Crisil, former banker and financial wizard Nithya Easwaran, MD, Multiples Alternate Asset Management Pvt. Ltd. Dr. Sujata Seshadrinathan, Director IT Product & Process of the Company, who graced the occasion as Guest of Honour, congratulating the awardees, highlighted the multi-faceted role of women and their abilities to excel in multi task with ease. R. Radhakrishnan, Chairman of The Fine Arts Society said India recognised women as Shakti, the power much before the world started their deliberation and debate on women equality and empowerment. Radhika Ananthkumar, President of The Fine Arts Society, said women played an equal role in the progression of Fine Arts Society and added that more than 50% of her team are women. The International Women's Day celebration concluded with a Bharatanatyam performance 'Mahila Mahima' by Srekala Bharath and students of Thejas School of Performing Arts. |
