Despite the ongoing pandemic, Saptaswa.....the rays of performing art (a leading socio cultural organization) organized a Sattriya dance workshop from 17th - 23rd December 2020 at Sri Sri Aauniati Satra, North Guwahati. The workshop conducted in collaboration with Sattriya Oitijyaaru Adhatmik Kala Niketon, North Guwahati, was supported by SNA, New Delhi. Interestingly there are 16 branches of Sri Sri Aauniati Satra and North Guwahati Satra is one of the most important among these branches. It is situated on the north bank of the river Brahmaputra and is just an hour's distance from the main city. This is the first time Saptaswa has organized a workshop in a Satra premises and this time it was really exceptional. Lakhi Kanta Kakati (Sastri) from Sri Sri Aauniati Satra acted as the main trainer and Atul Bhuyan was another resource person.

The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. Pitambar Dev Goswami, the Satradhikar of Sri Sri Aauniati Satras. The 7 day long workshop concluded with a final valedictory cum performance function held at Sri Sri Aauniati Satra, North Guwahati on 30th December. Dr. Pitambar Dev Goswami graced the occasion as the chief guest. The program started with the traditional assembly of Satra School with Sanskrit slokas. Then the participants performed Mati Akhoras. After that, a few students performed Gayan Bayan. The performance was heart warming with everyone appreciating the presentation for learning the style's basics within a very limited time.

Dr. Pratibha Sharma, General Secretary of Saptaswa, felicitated Dr. Pitambar Dev Goswami. Other board members of Sattriya Oitijyaaru Adhatmik Kala Niketon, North Guwahati were also felicitated. After this, some participants presented a Nadu Bhongi dance and it was a good show from a learner's point of view.

The certificates were distributed to the participants. In his speech, Dr. Pitambar Dev Goswami mentioned that spirituality is everything. From spirituality, one's patience and dedication came.
