Mahagami Gurukul has been accorded accreditation under “MAHABHRAMAN” Tourism initiative by Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation as an important center for experiencing culture, tradition, lifestyle, music, dance and Indian art forms. This prestigious certification was granted by the Dy. General Manager of MTDC, Chandrashekhar Jaiswal on 7 February 2017 at an informal function held at MTDC office, Aurangabad.

According to Mr. Jaiswal, Mahagami is the first center in Maharashtra to receive this prestigious recognition from MTDC. It may be noted that Mahagami, under the leadership of Kathak and Odissi exponent Parwati Dutta has been consistently working for the past 21 years towards preservation, promotion and furtherance of Indian cultural heritage and the cultural tourism  potential of Aurangabad city. Concerts under Aura-Aurangabad series, festivals like Sharangadev Samaroh and many other initiatives to promote and showcase Indian heritage have been widely appreciated by the cultural seekers and tourists over years. Mahagami has already been acknowledged and recognized as a cultural landmark of the city and with this certification from MTDC, it adds one more feather in the crown.

Parwati Dutta, Director of Mahagami, feels that this gesture from MTDC has certainly been a great gesture of appreciation for MahagamI and she hopes that together with MTDC, they can work towards cultural empowerment of Aurangabad city.
