of Chakyar Rajan Marg

The Brihan
Mumbai Municipal Corporation has named the road leading to Dharmishta Mithran's
Aparakriya Centre, off Ghatkopar Mankhurd Link Road, near Chedda Nagar,
Chembur as CHAKYAR RAJAN MARG, after my late father Chakyar Koothu exponent,
KK Rajan, who was fondly known as Chakyar Rajan. The road naming function
was held on Sunday 22nd February 2009 at 10:30am. This was followed by
friends and well wishers of my father addressing the gathering between
11am and 12 noon and lunch.
The road naming
function of my dear departed father was most touching and memorable. In
fact, the CHAKYAR RAJAN MARG was unveiled amidst a huge gathering of friends,
relatives, fans and followers who felt that father continues to inspire
everyone. The Marg leads to Dharmishta Mithran, a popular organization
that takes up the significant last rites of people in traditional style
and would now have its address with father's name. The final journey of
many to Vaikuntha will be taken through a Marg, named after one who recited
Narayana Naama continuously. His indomitable spirit will be extolled this
way.
A bus stop is
coming up there too and the Corporator said that it is incredible that
father's name was accepted so soon although there are several applications
of local Mumbaikars piled up in files for years! This happened with simple
and straight procedures only!
