For the first
time, the "Mylapore Trio" of Sri Sumukhi Rajasekharan Memorial Foundation
organized Navarathri Kolu Competition exclusively for the Chennai residents.
Criteria were traditional Kolu, theme, creativity, decorations, hospitality
etc....
The prizes
were distributed by the chief guest Revathy Sankkaran, during a special
function at Sri Dakshinamurthy Auditorium, Mylapore, on 28th October 2007.
Though it was raining cats and dogs, all the prize winners were present.
The audience was enthralled by the Bharatanatyam and Carnatic music performed
by the Foundation children.

Prizes were
sponsored by Smart Creations (Gold Lacquering of Metal Items).
The Mylapore
Trio organized the competition for the first time as an email/mail competition.
Around 60 participants all over Chennai took part by sending their Kolu
photos and the best once were visited and adjudicated by the judges. All
the participants were given gift vouchers. The interesting feature is that,
there were enquires even by the NRIs from the US to participate in this
contest!
