 Shambhavi School of Dance presents Mūlam Basava Samiti, 5pm August 2, 2026 Bengaluru July 31, 2026  Mūlam is a unique cultural initiative dedicated to preserving, promoting, and expressing gratitude to the Guru-Shishya Parampara, the timeless tradition of learning that has sustained India's classical arts across generations. The festival celebrates the enduring bond between the Guru and the disciple while showcasing artistic excellence through distinguished exponents and their disciples. The evening will be inaugurated by Rani Satish, Former Minister for Kannada and Culture, Government of Karnataka, and Srinivas, Founder of Surabhi Cultural Organisation, as the Guest of Honour. This year's festival will feature distinguished performances by: Kuchipudi by Dr. Pasumarthi Sheshu Babu (Hyderabad), eminent Guru and performer. Roja Kannan (Chennai) and her disciples. Poornima Ashok (Bengaluru) and her disciples. This will be followed by a intensive Kuchipudi Yakshagana Workshop under the guidance of Dr. Pasumarthi Sheshu Babu at Shambhavi Dance Theatre on 3rd and 4th August 2026 Through these presentations, Mūlam seeks to highlight the living legacy of the Guru-Shishya tradition, where knowledge is transmitted through dedication, discipline, and lifelong commitment.
