ABHAI presents 36th Annual Day celebrations

ABHAI presents 36th Annual Day celebrations

The Association of Bharatanatyam Artists of India (ABHAI), a global community dedicated to the welfare and advancement of artists, announces its 36th Annual Day Celebration on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at 5:30pm at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Mylapore, Chennai.

ABHAI stands as a vital support system for artists worldwide, with Shaakas  across India and the USA. Primarily a welfare institution, ABHAI provides crucial assistance to artists in need through its monthly pension scheme.

Beyond direct support, ABHAI is deeply committed to nurturing the future of Bharatanatyam and the arts:
  • Teach for ABHAI is a transformative outreach program bringing Bharatanatyam education to 10 government schools.
  • The association offers scholarship programs and conducts competitions in various schools to encourage emerging talent.
  • Abhivriddhi Shalas are popular learning initiatives where members gain knowledge from legends and senior artists. These programs cover a wide range of disciplines, including Bharatanatyam, yoga, physiotherapy, music, thalam, and even temple architecture.
  • ABHAI also honors the significant contributions of Bharatanatyam gurus, musicians, upcoming artists, and folk artists.
During challenging times, such as the pandemic and the Chennai floods, ABHAI demonstrated its unwavering commitment by providing extensive support to thousands of artists, including folk artists, makeup artists, and instrument makers, extending far beyond Bharatanatyam.

The President Priya  Murle and the dynamic executive committee are continuing the work done by its predecessors.

Join and support ABHAI as it celebrates over three decades of dedication to the arts and artists.
