Tridhara presents 18th Guru Debaprasad Award Festival 2024 Rabindra Mandap, 6.30pm October 25 - 27, 2024 Bhubaneswar Oct 24, 2024 TRIDHARA has been organizing the Guru Debaprasad Award presentation ceremony for the last 17 years in remembrance of the legendary and revered Guruji Debaprasad Das. This festival invites internationally renowned artistes from both within the country and abroad, (as well as eminent critics) to showcase exceptional works. It is one of the most remarkable festivals, attracting significant attention among art lovers in India and beyond. This year, the 18th Guru Debaprasad Award Festival 2024 is scheduled to be held from 25th to 27th October, 2024 at Rabindra Mandap, Bhubaneswar, starting at 6:30pm. Guru Debaprasad Das will always be remembered for his role in the revival of Odissi dance. The objective of organizing this award festival is to confer awards to legendary Gurus and artistes in the fields of dance and music, as well as to showcase and promote Odissi dance as a synthetic gharana rooted in the essence of tribal and folk traditions. The institute Tridhara is very apt since the three streams of folk, tribal and traditional Odissi dances are amalgamated in Guruji's Gharana and they are frequently manifested in Guru Gajendra Panda's choreography, mirroring both the sensuous lasya aspect and the dynamic tandava aspect. This year the GURU DEBAPRASAD LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD 2024 will be conferred on Guru Mayadhar Rout for his lifetime contribution in the field of Odissi Dance; Guru Gopal Chandra Panda in Odissi Music; Guru Harmohan Khuntia in Odissi Mardala and Dr. Ramesh Prasad Panigrahi lifetime contribution in Natya Sahitya.
