 Prof. Mohan Khokar's centenary celebrations Mumbai: Feb 7 Vadodara: Feb 9 - 11 Ahmedabad: Feb 12 January 23, 2024  Prof Mohan Khokar Centenary is being celebrated in phases in different parts of the globe, wherever his footprints are. It started with his alma mater Kalakshetra, Chennai, on 30 December 2023. A grand event attended by cognoscenti and connoisseurs of the city and most of the eminent names in the dance field from A to Z . Icons like Sonal Mansingh and Padma Subrahmanyam with veteran guru Kalyanasundaram presided and did the honours. The second phase is in West of India in February: Bombay, Baroda, Ahmedabad. All dance lovers can attend and buy a copy of 300 paged book which has 50 rare articles selected from thousands written by pioneer Mohan Khokar from 1940s to 2000. 50 dancers have paid tributes from Alarmel Valli to Zohra Segal. A film made from Mohan Khokar Dance Collection@IGNCA curated by Ashish Khokar will be shown in all cities with rarest illustrations, set to music of maestro L. Subramanian.
