This production is a saga of dances depicting the mythological stories of the 12 Jyotirlingas of India. The concept, research, choreography and direction are by Guru Kanaka Sudhakar. After a successful tour of North India, The Legends of Jyotirlingam tours the Deccan. 1st Jan, 6pm - Triambakeshwar Jyotirling Temple, Nasik 3rd Jan, 6pm - AISSMS, Pune 6th Jan, 6pm - Teach Auditorium, Spastn, Tharamani, Chennai 8th Jan, 6pm - Visvesvaraya Bhavan, Khairatabad, Hyderabad Lord Shiva, the omnipresent and omniscient force that creates, protects and annihilates, is worshipped as pillar of light in 12 sacred places of India. These holy shrines are called the Jyotirlingam. Somnath – Somnath, Gujarat Mallikarjuna - Srisailam, Andhra Pradesh Mahakaleshwar - Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh Omkareshwar - Omkareshwar, Madhya Pradesh Vaidyanatheshwar/ Baba Baidyanath - Parli Maharashtra /Deogarh Jharkhand Bhimashankar - Bhimashankar Maharashtra Rameshwaram – Rameshwaram, Tamil Nadu Nagnath - Devbhoomi Dwarka Gujarat Vishweshwar – Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh Trayambakeshwar – Triambak, Maharashtra Kedarnath – Rudraprayag, Uttarakhand Grishneshwar – Ellora, Maharashtra The Kotirudra Samhita brings to us divine legends in which Lord Shiva personally visited these places. The Legends of Jyotirlingam is a dance drama production bringing, through the dances of India, these 12 legendary stories. This Natya amalgamates Indian Classical, Traditional, Martial, Folk and Contemporary dance forms. Concept, Direction and Choreography by Guru Kanaka Sudhakar, produced by S.U.N.A.INA (Society for the Upliftment of National Arts of India), sponsored by National Culture Fund and powered by Incredible India, this dance drama brings various cultures of India forward as a part of its National Integration Series.
