After a long break, the live gathering of dancers is on the eve of World Dance Day on 28th April, Thursday, 6pm at the educational and cultural hub of Bangalore, the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan on Race Course Road. The occasion marks the launch of Ashish Mohan Khokar's attenDance, in its 22nd year. The issue is guest edited by Ranee Kumar, Hyderabad-based arts writer and author.
 
108 dancers will participate, some solo, some groups, some on stage launching it like star Vani Ganapathy and others. More senior gurus like Lalitha Srinivasan, will chair the seminar on DANCE MATTERS - the title of Khokar's popular column on the Narthaki portal.
 
A dance photo exhibition in the foyer by Suresh VB will be inaugurated by former Ambassador to UNESCO, Sdr Chiranjiv Singh, who was also Karnataka's culture, finance and additional chief secretary. Dr Uttam Khincha is guest of honour and rare films on dance heritage will be shown too.
 
Co-publisher Elisabeth Hall Khokar, printer Printways and Neemrana Group have made this issue possible on 'Dance and Mysticism,' a most unusual topic where iconic names like Padma Subrahmanyam, Aman Nath, Choodamani Nandagopal, Sharada Srinivasan and youngsters like Aniruddha Bala Knight, Rani Khanam, Himanshu and Jigyasa Giri have contributed articles. 1k each copy. Enjoy the gathering which will be welcomed by the director of BVB, H.N. Suresh and Dr. Uttamchand Khincha will be the guest of honour. The Khincha Hall@BVB is named after his father. Others in attendance will be ex-DGP of Andhra, Girish Kumar, who served in Bangalore too and spiritual healer Aparna R.
 
All Covid protocols must be followed by the audience and mask is compulsory.
