| Sampradaya Dance Creations presents Connecting to the Creative Core Workshop by Dr. Rajyashree Ramesh August 6, 2022 Canada Workshop: Connecting to the Creative Core by Dr. Rajyashree Ramesh Taking examples from the traditional movement vocabulary, particularly some of the practically unknown angabhedas of Nāṭya, participants will explore the relationship between Inner Connectivity and Outer Shaping/Outer Expressivity. How can subtle shifts in focus make a profound difference in our movement ease and range, leading to spontaneous creative expansivity and expressivity? An introduction to FasciaNatya methodology that is applicable for enhanced perspectives on performance/choreography and pedagogy/dance education, as much as for dance/movement therapy. Challenges and chances, but also questions emerging from these collective experiences gathered in cross-cultural settings in the last four decades triggered her interest in human movement itself, channelising her studies finally into academic research. After receiving her doctorate from the Europa-University Viadrina, Germany, she launched a Diploma in Transcultural/Trans-disciplinary Dance & Movement Studies that she developed during her research. Thus enabling new perspectives and global approaches to the rich dance traditions of India. She also has several lecture-performances and workshops at international conferences, and published papers and articles in both German and English to her credit.
