 Dear friends,
Nice to see so many people care for what should be done and what should not be done by a dancer. Dancers please take note, your audience is very sensitive and highly divided. So you have a varied market segment looking at it in the management sense.

But let's also try to think about how can we get more people to see Bharathanatyam/ Indian Classical dance and hear Classical Music.
Further back in the thread, I saw Anu mentioned that we can expose our own kids to the taste. I am sure that is a good one. Will develop a base in a time frame. Most avid enthusiasts do this automatically and unconsciously.

But isn't that too little?
How are we going to prove that it is "cool" or even "Ok" to learn traditional arts to kids. With so many people cheering and supporting "dhoom machade" why take pains to learn and perform a varnam/ even a crisp pusphanjali and all the steps that need to be learnt for years before that? We need to get their involvement and dedication. Any ideas for this - other than allowing premature appearances on stage or purchasing performances at Sabhas ?
