KALĀ DWĀRAKA 2020: A Doorway to Classical Arts is a digital festival conceptualized and presented by the popular classical dance exponents from Bengaluru, Nirupama Rajendra and T D Rajendra. The inspiration first sprung from Sudha Murthy, chairperson of Infosys Foundation when she reached out to the dance duo and expressed her interest to support the artists who were facing a setback due to the pandemic. Taking this noble intention ahead, the couple felt the need to also provide a forum to classical artists to perform on stage with Live music and to a professional setup which otherwise had gone missing for the last 7 months. Thus, under the banner of Abhinava Arts Centre, KALĀ DWĀRAKA 2020 took its meaningful shape.

Nirupama and Rajendra with the festival Partners

This festival is dedicated to and is in fond memory of T.V. Dwarakanath from Prabhath Institution who has immensely contributed to the field of classical arts as well as served the society at large.

Celebrating fine classical artists of Karnataka, Kalā Dwāraka features 24 dance concerts performed to Live music. With all health and safety mandates in place, 28 classical dancers, 37 classical musicians, 20 volunteers and 17 technical and backstage crew have come together and collaborated for this festival. is the Digital Media Partner and Prabhath Auditoriums Private Limited is the venue partner for this festival.
