An opportunity to:
- View SPARSH, the film directed by Aditi Mangaldas and performed by members of the Drishtikon Family.
- Learn the Tarana performed in the film which includes many aspects of Kathak repertoire, across 6 days / 12 hours totally.
- Access the specially composed music which can be used for your own performances.
SPARSH has been choreographed during the lockdown by Aditi Mangaldas and performed by the Drishtikon family for a dance film. The work explores the grandeur of the monsoon which has been captured through a Tarana in Raag Miya Ki Malhar which is interwoven with the technical aspects of Kathak in Teental. The music has been composed by Drishtikon musicians, Faraz Ahmad & Ashish Gangani. The recording has three musicians playing - Tabla, Pakhawaj and Vocals/ Harmonium.
Workshop classes: Sat 16 / Sun 17 / Sun 24 / Sat 30, January 2021 from
5:00 pm - 7:00 pm IST
Rehearsal classes: Sat 23 / Sun 31, January 2021 from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm IST
SPARSH ( Approx. 20 minutes) will be taught over 6 classes ( 4 workshop classes and 2 rehearsal classes) of 2 hours each.
