 This story of just 70 people attending a concert is disheartening. Last year while at India, I had planned to attend a dance recital of a renowned artist. To be sure that I got a reservation I called up the sabha to get a ticket. The staff at the sabha said " dance Kutcheri thane, ee ootiendirukkum, get the ticket at the sabha when you get to it ". So that's the story now.
We see similar stories from US, Australia and Asia(Except India). Probably India and Singapore are a little better off. With so little impetus given to Classical Arts, is it going to be easy to get the youth/children interested? Is the already diminishing rasika base going to wither away more? Can't we do anything about this?
