vinod ,
she is quite fast to learn and has two months.do you think it is ok
to make her learn a new item. Also can you suggest any krishna song that
could exibit both nritta and nritya
: Hello Chitra,
:
: Polish, poise and involved execution is more important than whether
the piece is nritta-intensive or abhinaya-intensive. Judges will be able
to discern the proficiency of the dancer regardless of the item performed.
If a new piece is learned at the last minute and there is not enough time
to practice and polish it before the competition, it will not matter even
if the piece has brilliant nritta choreography - it will show up as half
baked.
:
: Moreover, you say that abhinaya is your daughter's strongpoing. Why
not showcase that amidst the nritta-fest there might be at this competition?
:
: My two cents - go with the piece that the child is most comfortable
with. That will ease pressure and give confidence and the execution will
come out neat and polished since it has been internalised and the child
is not constantly thinking what comes next.
:
: Good luck!
