hi, i've started learning bharatanatyam when i was 19, it happened
that a teacher came to teach this dance form in our area. i dont remember
seeing this dance before, might be some pics of dancers only, but from
the very 1st class i was so fascinated by every single adavu, every single
step we did that at once i knew for sure that i want to learn it, to discover
it. but the great thing abt indian classical dance is that discovering
never ends - there's so much in it (technique, theory, emotional and inner
understanding), thats what made me stick to this dance form. i love dancing
and i've noticed, that each dance (western or any other) has its own mood
or energy and the energy that indian classical dance gives me - suits me
very well, and i feel it being 'my' dance, through which i can express
myself better.
