: Hi Jahnavi!
:
: I know one girl in her mid-twenties who studied there. By the number of students, this school is one of the largest in Chennai. 90% of them learn as a hobby, so the guru and her assistants do not bother to impose "very high standard of dance" on all students. For this category, the standards are relaxed and compromised. :(
:
: The "very high standard of dance being taught there" is only for those few who want and who have the potential and the dedication to become really professional dancers, top dancers in the future.
:
: The high standards are maintained by regular intra-school competitions. The topmost batch is required to attend all other competitions too (this is how they win so many prizes everywhere).
:
: The "senior" batch also attend the gruelling "special exercises" (mostly yoga and martial arts-like training) sessions. I am not sure if 99% of the so-called "professional" dancers would last through these. :)
:
: The drawback of the school is that the guru sometimes finds it a bit too hard to explain (in English) the in-depth theory (you can read a book if you want to learn the theory, after all), and sometimes "forgets" to correct your minor errors unless you specifically ask for such corrections :( The usual thing.....

follow up;
thx for the critique. I am very impressed that this school plans to start online courses from September, so one may study worldwide. This point really could give a higher rating to the institute, another one is the many free videoclips they offer, some are on youtube.
