Did anyone hear about a ten year old student of Roja Kannan enthralled a packed bharathiya vidhya bhavan with many noted veterans from the field of music and dance on her arangetram? I happened to be there on the 20th of May, Sunday. I was thrilled to see Karaikudi Krishnamoorthy mama on the mridangam. Later,during the speech it was told that mama has flown in from London on his own to accompany this kid, seeing her dance during his last visit. Mama was emotional during his speech. Leelaji was the chief guest, who was in all praise of the child. It was amazing to see this kid perform so elegantly, with precise perfection. She also did the nattuvangam and vocal for a piece. I had a sleepless night that day after seeing the padam varugalamo. A true prodigy. God send. let all our wishes be on her. I had to post this. The name board says the kid's name is Sivasri.
