Namaste,

In my very personal opinion, I agree with you.

I have noted that Intellectual abilities tend to result in arrogance in greater propotion than true merit in arts... Ones command over the English language, access to resouces - stage, costumes and orchestra increases the need for 'success' as a dancer and moves away from the attempt to spread true 'happiness'.

Over analysis of any art and going deep down into the layers of how it happenend and why it is so and explaining everything to the audience -on the one hand is good education but on the other hand takes away the magic. While such intellectual exercise is good to share with students, it rarely makes good material to share with the lay audience. I think even writers over analyze and i am not sure why.. i think they want to prove their own scholarship over the subject matter...

The innocence and performing for performance sake is rapidly declining. Every teacher wants to create new work to prove themselves... very few seem to be in the business of preservation and enjoying the originals...
