there are only two films on Bala and one of them is available for purchase. if you want to own a copy of it, go to www.centerforworldmusic.com and click on the link for Balasaraswati. I'm surprised you want a copy of a film on Bala. Most people who practice Bharata Natyam have never heard of her. when she was alive, she was called, "the queen of bharata natyam" and was considered to be the greatest dancer in the past 1,000 years. It's odd how so little was written about her. She's one of the revivers of the art form. Most people think of Rukimini Arundale when it comes to reconstructing Bharata Natyam. But I think of Balasaraswati. Rukimini reconstructed shringara, but Bala kept it the way it was. If you would like to learn about her, visit www.kaypoursine.com. Bala comes from a long a family that has a long history of dance and music. Her family is pretty big in the world of Carnatic music and dance. They're world-reknowned, I think. People respected them. In her family, it's either you're a dancer or a musician. There's no other option. Dance and music is in their blood.
