renowned exponent of Bharatanatyam, Srekala Bharath imbibed the vibrant
vazhuvoor style under the able guidance of guru Kalaimamani Smt.K.J.Sarasa.
Passionate about
Bharatanatyam since the age of 7, Srekala is adept at thematic features
both Solo and Ballet that strictly adhere to tradition. She has participated
in major dance festivals in India & abroad.
Srekala's dedication to the dance form has won her several acclaims of
national and international standing including the Kalaimamani from Tamil
Nadu.
Among the dance ballets
that she has produced, Annamayya Bhakti Manjari based on Nava Vidha Bhakti
(the nine types of devotion in dance) from the Sankirtanas of Tallapakkam
Annamacharya, merits a special mention.
With a view to keeping
the Vazhuvoor legacy going, she runs her own dance school "Thejas", which
has received wide patronage. |
