June 10, 2009 Hello, I am a regular reader of the Dance History Column by Ashish Khokar. I have been a fan and admire Zohra Sehgal for her acting and the spirit she infuses into people (this is in context to movies). I remember in the film 'Dil Se,' there is a tiny bit in a song wherein she does a Bharatanatyam movement with such precision and clarity in conveying the essence of that movement and I always wondered how this lady could do it so well. Now when I read the article by Ashish Khokar on her, i came to know many facts about this wonderful artiste. Thanks to both narthaki and Khokar for letting us know about this artiste and we look forward to many more. Praveen Kumar |
