Natya Institute of Kathak & Choreography celebrates 25 years
Jhoolan Yatra
PESIT Auditorium, 4pm
July 14, 2012 Bangalore

June 27, 2012

The Jhoola concept associated with the rain, is a metaphoric shower of dance, music, creativity and joy, conceptualized by Dr. Maya Rao and created in association with the students, alumni and well wishers of the Natya Institute of Kathak & Choreography which celebrates its 25th year of existence (1987 – 2012) in Bangalore. (It is however 47 years since its inception in Delhi).

The monsoons have inspired poets, musicians and dancers over the centuries and the “Jhoola” is an artistic and cultural concept associated with this season.

In Dr. Maya Rao’s words: “Just like the “Jhoola” swings up and down, the institute too has seen many swings in the last few decades and we celebrate this balance through dance and music.”

Date: July 14, 2012
Time: 4pm to 10pm
Venue: PESIT Auditorium, Bangalore
