STEM Dance Kampni
presents Vajra
April 30 - May 10, 2012 UK

April 24, 2012

The first Indian contemporary dance company to be presented in Wales, Natya & Stem Dance Kampni in collaboration with the world renowned National Dance Company Wales, British Council and Wales Arts International is touring its most treasured choreographic works –SANJOG and VAJRA - RECLAIMING BRILLIANCE.

Vajra is a collaborative mixed media work which captures and radiates the various nuances connected to the term ‘Vajra’ as the diamond, lightning and a weapon. These interpretations connect to the qualities of indestructibility, Shakti, brilliance and enlightenment. It is the vibrant celestial womb of cosmic light, the flashing force that sets in motion of all life. The human spirit as the ‘Vajra’ - a potent vessel for receiving and emanating brilliance, as an indestructible force and as a weapon that wields wisdom is the undercurrent of this work.

This choreography encompasses original music, photographic art, interactive multimedia design, costume design, literature (ancient, esoteric and modern), and martial arts with dance.
