Cultural activism
Ritual and revival also forms an area of major focus.  The revival of a 10th century ritual 'Arayar Sevai' gives a new lease of life to an ancient tradition.  The mime and movement tradition of 'Arayar Sevai' is also incorporated into Anita's Bharatanatyam repertoire.

TV and the media 
Creator, host and producer of Indigo - the colours of India -  a weekly series on art, travel and culture viewed in the USA on the Travel Channel and TV Asia between 1987 and 1996.

Producer and host of the Festival of India - USA.  A 26 part series on Indian art and cultural exhibitions held in America.  Viewed in USA and via satellite in India and S.E. Asia between 1985 and 1990.

Host of TV series Emerging Powers, a look at the liberalisation of the Indian Economy produced by Dow Jones TV and PBS, USA in 1996.

Producer director Bharatanatyam - Sacred Dance of South India - an introduction to Indian classical dance funded by the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) in 1990.

Today
Anita is cultural commentator, writer and speaker on the performing arts, as she sees her responsibilities extend beyond the stage.
